Holy Cow people! Is anyone besides me hurting over the rise in the price of fuel? Has it changed your habits at all? I have changed my driving habits quite a bit. If I know I have to go to town I make a list of things to get done all at once, groceries, haircut, sending mail, banking, other shopping. When this dance season is over for my grand-daughter, I will move her to a studio closer to home for the next season. And I don't just go out for a drive anymore. It's a sad state of affairs, I truly don't know how some people manage.

I agree completely. I think it's funny that the oil and gas companies are making record profits to the tune of billions of dollars a year, yet they claim that gasoline is not overpriced. I heard that President Bush is requiring all auto manufacturers to produce vehicles that get a certain MPG several years from now.
I think we need to focus on developing a vehicle that runs on an alternative fuel source. That way we won't be so dependent on the Middle East, where most of the countries hate the US anyway.

High gas prices have definitely changed my habits. I don't make any unnecessary trips, and try to save all my errands for the same day. I have a large SUV that gets terrible gas mileage, but I need a big vehicle since I have two small children. The gas prices are hurting us at the grocery store too. The price for many products has gone up because it costs more to get it there.
My brother has several oil and gas companies in his stock portfolio. He says that way he feels a little bit better when he fills up his car. Even though he is getting screwed at the pump, at least his stocks are doing well.
