The "BIG" talk yesterday was about THE NEW YORK YANKEES ALEX "A-ROD" RODRIGUEZ getting suspended through the end of the 2014 season due to the "Biogenesis" ("steroids") scandal. However yesterday he arrived in Chicago to join the rest of The Yankees to play a series against The Chicago White Sox (which I heard on the news The Yanks were losing to The White Sox 8-1.). A-Rod was out until last month cause in January he underwent hip surgery. I hear he wants to play out the rest of his 10 year contract until 2017 which he will make $275 Million Dollars.
It's been a rough 3 weeks for "GLEE" LEA MICHELE without her love and co-star "CORY MONTEITH", Cory died of a mix of alcohol and heroin on July 13th. But Lea is trying to move as best she can because over the weekend she attended "JAMIE LYNN-SIGLER" ("THE SOPRANOS") baby shower with JOANNA GARCIA at The Thompson Hotel in Los Angeles. Lea did tweet, "Cory will forever be in my heart".
As you know "MATT SMITH" will be leaving "DOCTOR WHO" at the end of the year. But on Sunday "LIVE" on BBC America they mentioned a 12th new Doctor and he will be about 25 years older than Matt's "29". It will be played by 55 year old British film and television veteran "PETER CAPALDI". Peter says it's an amazing privilege.
Well we are going to lose "A New Yorker" and he's packing the family for sunny L.A., "yes it's MATT DAMON". I hear the family is excited and even the kids are thrilled they are finally getting a yard, something you don't get in New York City. I think the bigger reason is Matt believes living in New York is way too expensive.
Although "BREAKING BAD" is entering their final season next week last Saturday they got quite a "BIG" award. The show that stars "BRYAN CRANSTON" and "AARON PAUL" won "Program Of The Year" from "THE TELEVISION CRITICS ASSOCIATION" which I hear has over 220 plus members. Other winners were "GAME OF THRONES", "BEHIND THE CANDELABRA" on HBO, "THE AMERICANS", for best comedy series was a tie with CBS' "BIG BANG THEORY" and NBC'S "PARKS AND RECREATION", even "BARBARA WALTERS" was given "The Career Achievement Award".
50 CENT had gotten into a fight with his ex "DAPHNE JOY" at her Toluca Lake condo in California on June 23rd, he kicked her door down and ended up also 'kicking her", when she called cops "50" was gone. He caused $7,000 in damage to her home. So anyway in court "50" pleaded "not guilty" but he's now prohibited from contacting Daphne and cannot be within 100 yards of her. But "50" also has to turn any guns that he owns, he has to return to court on September 4th. And it's not over yet kids, he got served more papers to appear in court for a child custody hearing involving their son. As for the vandalism and domestic violence he could face up to 5 years in jail.
For the next 10 days for September 9th to 19th on NBC, RYAN SEACREST will be hosting a new game show "LIVE" from New York City called "THE MILLION SECOND QUIZ". Contestants are to play head to head in trivia bouts within an enormous outdoor hour glass shaped structure in Manhattan and compete non- stop for 1 Million seconds which is 11 Days, 13 Hours, 46 Minutes, and 40 Seconds. They will sit in a "money chair" which will be $10 a second accumulating as much time in the chair answering trivia questions against an opponent.
