Just because the majority accepts it doesn't make it right. True or false?
I don't know how many times I've heard kids say to parents, "Well, so and so has one, is allowed to, can go, etc., etc.," Just because those parent sallow it, should everyone?

And what about values? Just because values and social mores are changing, does that make it right to behave differently to what we believe is right inside?

Society is definitely changing; what was once considered socially or morally unacceptable is not necessarily so today. However, I don't think that makes something right. I think a lot of it has to do with society as a whole getting desensitized. That's not to say all changes are bad, as we obviously have to progress throughout life.

One way I think society's values are changing is in regard to respect. It seems like parents these days are raising their kids to have no manners and no respect of others. I have a three-year-old son, and I am trying to teach him to be polite to everyone we see. I teach him to say please, thank you, excuse me, etc. Then I see the way other kids act and I wonder why I even bother. But I know in the long run it will make him a better person than these other children.

One day I was shopping at a store and I pushed a cart out to my vehicle. There was no place to leave the cart when I was done, so I pushed it clear back up to the store and took it inside. As I was opening the door to take it in, an older gentleman that was in the parking lot commented that most people would have just left it out there, and that it was nice to see a young person do something like that. To me it was the right thing to do, the respectful thing to do. It made me realize how much society has changed from his generation to mine.
