Why You Should Embrace Feeling Stupid Print
Written by John Alanis

Becoming stupid can make you smart

Hey Guys--

I am, by any measure, a successful guy.  And like all successful
men, I hate feeling stupid.  I abhor it.  And yet, I embrace it at
the same time.

Why?  Because I recognize that when you learn a new skill, you
will, for a time feel stupid until you begin to fully understand
and utilize that skill.

Do you HATE rejection by women?  Imagine a life of no heartbreak or
misery, only fun and joy with the women YOU choose to have in your
life on your terms.  For a whole new approach to dating, women, and

There are a lot of people, successful in one area, who let their
hatred of feeling stupid prevent them from becoming successful in
another area, relegating themselves to a life of moderate success,
instead of the life of wild success they could achieve.

For example, I know many women who are in great cardio shape who
refuse to take themselves to the next level with weight training
because they feel they'll be embarrassed when they walk into the
weight room and have no clue with what to do with all the machines
and free weights.

Instead of embracing the temporary feeling of stupidity, they
forego learning a new skill, and prevent themselves from achieving
success in another area.  They're fit... but not nearly as fit as
they could be.

Another, more germane example, has to do with men who are very
successful in business and in fitness, yet are failures with women.
Why?  Because they refuse to embrace the initial period of feeling
stupid that leads to learning an entirely new skill set that can
bring them the fulfillment they really want.

Lookit, the truth is this:  whenever you set out to learn something
new, you're going to feel stupid no matter how successful you are
in other areas of your life.  And, truthfully, successful people
hate to feel stupid... that's why many of them achieved success in
the first place.

But if you live your life avoiding the feeling of stupidity, you
will plateau, never succeeding in the other areas you easily could.

So, embrace the temporary feeling of stupidity while hating it at
the same time.  When you embrace it, and you're OK with it, you'll
start to learn a new skill.  But if you simultaneously hate it,
you'll work  your tail off to learn that new skill so  you'll feel
smart instead of stupid.

So, make it your business to embrace temporary stupidity,
especially when it comes to learning the skill of attraction. This
too shall pass, and at the end you'll have a skill the moderately
successful refuse to learn.

Who knew feeling stupid could make you so damn smart?

On with the fun,
