What would b the common dating difficulties that single parents face? Is it a lack of understanding on the part of the other person?

The dating difficulties I faced when i was a single parent was the usual! Guys not wanting the baggage! Guys wanting the freedom for both of you to do as you please! Fortunatly i met my current partner and he was happy with the ready made family!

You hit the nail on the head there! Men don't want that extra baggage. And the reason is because it's not their baggage. I believe it takes a big man to accept responsibility of a child of another man.

I think more goes on than a lack of understanding on the part of the outside person. I think there is often a concern over finances. As a single parent, where does the extra money come from for extra childcare/babysitting. Not everyone has understanding grandparents to dump the kids at. I think there's a guilt issue over time spent away from the kids, maybe wasted time, or time borrowed from important family matters. I don't think the baggage issue is any differnt for anybody toaday. Don't we all have pasts; don't we all have baggage?

Time, for sure time and energy are in there somewhere as well as lack of understanding. This though, assumes the date does not have children. More and more often, men and women are jointly sharing parenting, even when separated. Then the fact that the date has children makes it doubly difficult to find the time, find the place to go, etc.
Society is changing and anything goes with lifestyles today.
