Many years ago, when starting my business career, I lived in the
office space of a warehouse, with no shower and no hot water.
Oh, I could have gotten a job, but that idea was abhorrent to me,
and my living situation really wasn't so bad. I drove to the gym
everyday to shower and get a workout, the warehouse was nice and
quiet.

The one thing I did not have was money, and I was determined to
learn how to get it. So, I spent my spare time in the library at
the University of Texas (the PCL), and started buying everything
about money-getting I could get my hands on.
Unfortunately, I couldn't buy much because I didn't have much
money. In fact, I didn't have any. I was so broke, I was lending
myself money from my own credit cards, something every entrepreneur
does at one time or another.
Then I saw an ad for a book promising to show me how to make $4,000
a day sitting at my kitchen table in my underwear. I wanted that
book--but it cost $39 which I did not have.
So, what did I do? I skipped lunch for a week until I had the $39
to buy the book. No great shakes, and I lost a pound and half in
the process.
The book arrived, and guess what? It was a pitch for a $297
system by a guy named Jeff Paul, and he would not budge on the
price. A scam? Or an opportunity? What should I do?
I skipped lunch again, until I almost had the money to get it. My
mother took pity on me and bought it for me for Christmas, and I
used my "lunch money" to upgrade to the deluxe.
Foolish? Well, let's see. That book finally showed me how to make
money in direct marketing, and the reason you are here, reading
this very email today is because I bought that book. Jeff Paul has
been a business friend of mine for many years now, and I have
earned millions in business because of what I learned from that
book, the system, and all the other products I have purchased
since.
One of the most important success skills you can have in life,
whether it's for money-getting, attraction, or fitness is the skill
of spending money you haven't got on information you know you need.
If you must skip lunch on occasion to get the money, then do so.
You can have many, many lunches in the future to make up for it,
and hey, you might lose some fat in the process. It's a win all
the way around.
