There are numerous studies out now proving that constant
interruption via email, text, smartphones, internet, etc. makes you
dumber.

Because constant interruptions deprive you of the ability to
focus, and focus is important if you wish to succeed.
When you're online, surfing the web, you are constantly
interrupted. You are interrupted by Facebook updates, by Twitter,
by email, by toolbars flashing a new story and on and on and on.
When you click on something new, you start it, and suddenly you're
interrupted again. And again. All of sudden you start to feel
slower, think less clearly.
This is not good for attraction. If you want to master the skill
of attraction, you have to focus on the woman in front of you for
an extended period of time. If you can't, you'll miss important
cues.
Moreover, you have to be sure she's not being interrupted. That's
why you want to turn off all cell phones, internet, etc. when
you're spending time with her, else you will be interrupted.
Attraction has a certain timing and rhythm to it, and interruptions
can kill that, especially if it's a phone call from a whiny female
friend. So when you're out, insist on turning off all cell phones
and other interruptions.
But even when you're home alone you should do this. Limit the time
you spend online, and get off. I literally unplug the internet
when I work, getting back on when need be, and getting back off
before it sucks me in.
When I do this I find I think faster, think more clearly, and think
more deeply. Your brain really doesn't begin to heat up until
you've focused on something for 20 minutes or so, and you'll never
get there online.
Also, when you're done working or even farting around on the web,
go deep read a real book with no interruptions. This keeps your
brain focused in a way reading on the internet never will.
Technology is all well and good when used properly--and
disconnecting promptly from it is a proper use.
