Feeling important and recognized is the desire to become successful
A few weeks ago I shared this video and a select number of you who acted fast were able to watch it. Well, it's back... but again, only a limited number of people will be able to view it. So, if you missed this last time, make sure you act fast and watch it today:

Hey Guys,
Never has been so much been made about so little. At the end of a tense, Lions-49er's game that came down to the end, the winning coach Jim Harbaugh came over to shake the hand of the losing coach, and would up pushing him in the back.
Jim Schwartz, never one to let an opportunity to run his mouth go to waste, ran after Harbaugh, and words were exchanged.

The squealers in the sports media went wild with delight. Over and over and over, the replay of Schwartz running after Harbaugh was replayed, as if it were some monumental event.
The NFL came out soon after and told both men not to do it again. It was a non-event turned into an event by the media.
30 years ago, this wouldn't have been news. There was a limited number of media outlets, and they had to decide what to report and what not to report. Two hyper-competitive men jawing at each other after a tough game was not news--in fact, it was to be expected.
But today there are unlimited sources of media. Every idiot with a computer and access to the internet in his mother's basement is in the media business, and not shackled with the need to verify facts or report accurate news.
More and more so, all sources of media appear to be equal, and so they all have to scream for attention, turning stories that would have never been newsworthy 20 years ago into bold headlines today.
Those headlines will soon be forgotten, and the squealers will move onto the next manufactured crisis, then the next one, then the next one, with truly important ones given the same priority as meaningless ones.
While it IS important to stay plugged in, and keep a wary eye on the media, you have to question everything they put out. Reporting has been replaced with agenda, transmitting the news replaced with creating it.
Members of the media want what everyone does, to feel important and recognized. Having their story circulated and read is the way they "achieve" that, selling it as important.
Your only defense is a healthy skepticism, based on what you know to be true in the real world. Everyone has an agenda, especially the mental midgets in the media...and if you desire to be successful, their agenda is most assuredly not yours.

EliteMate is something different that I have been part of and I am glad I received an email inviting me to join. The best thing about this site is that we get to meet new people and even find someone for me or anyone else. I have enjoyed every second as a member of EliteMate and it's really cool.
