I've always been a fan of that show, and I hated it when Mike Judge
ended it to focus on the neutered King of Hill, something I always
thought was "Beavis Lite."
The MTV website (when was the last time they actually played a
music video, 1986?) used the term "culture critics" and I think it
is an apt term. While Beavis and Butthead appears juvenile on the
surface, if you look deeper, you'll find it nails the absurdity of
American culture.
In previous incarnations, Beavis and Butthead sat around making fun
of music videos--now, they make fun reality shows such as the vapid
"Jersey Shore" saying things only intelligent people could be
thinking.
Beavis and Butthead are funny because they tell stupid people they
are stupid, and call stupid things stupid, something the mainstream
media are afraid to do.
Not only that, they'll say things that will catch you off guard,
and make you laugh in spite of yourself. They are worth studying
for the structure of their humor.
If you ask most women if they like Beavis and Butthead, they'll
turn their noses up and say "Ewww." But, if you repeat something
from the show without attributing it to them, you'll make them
laugh in spite of themselves, and that is attractive.
I've made many women laugh many times by repeating something from
the show, and they're shocked afterwards to find out where I got it
from. It's a lot more clever than they would have expected.
So, I highly recommend you tune in and watch the new, updated, but
refreshingly same old Beavis and Butthead. With all the nonsense
on all the networks, and with all the horseshit that comes from the
girlie men, Beavis and Butthead are a breath of fresh air--after
all, they have no tolerance for any girlie man behavior whatsoever.
