Role reversal has been on the rise. You see more women smoking cigars indulging in high-end whiskey while catching the game, power lifting in the gym and men cooking, cleaning and being Mom as well. Don’t get me wrong – I give a hat-tip to all the amazing mothers out there but there is a growing trend of single men with children who are Mr. Mom and women who are like – ‘fuck this, I’m meeting for happy hour and seeing if I can end it off in a happy hour’ than people care to admit. You see it on the increased presence of Dads in the schoolyard or school trips. You see it at the park, the birthday parties or during the summer, at the pools where kids and their friends are chaperoned by their fathers as opposed to what society inherently brushed off as the role of a Mom. It’s actually pretty cool and let’s face it, sometimes Dads are just way more fun and down to earth. Yet after centuries of the blood, sweat and tears endured by women who inherited this undervalued task, if we are talking on a universal level, well karma has no deadline and this is proof.
