Johnny Borrell is angry critics haven't been giving Razorlight's new album 'Slipway Fires' glowing reviews.

The frontman believes that people haven't been giving the recently-released follow-up to 2006's 'Razorlight' a proper chance because of the egocentric persona publications have created for him.

Speaking about the reception the album has received Borrell said: "I'm not happy with the reviews on the whole because I don't think people have given the album a chance."

He continued: "If I go to a gig and see a band I don't like, at least I can be objective, but it seems people want to believe the crap that's written about me. But the haters aren't going to win."

Borrell also said that he wasn't planning on releasing a solo album, as he is in Razorlight for the long haul.

He told the Daily Star: "It's total rubbish. I've never said I want to release a solo album. Noel Gallagher writes the songs for Oasis, but he doesn't get the amount of flak I get."

He concluded: "People prefer to think I'm always throwing a strop, but I'm committed to this band."
