A lawyer for Keanu Reeves is seeking the dismissal of a Ontario woman's claims he may have fathered some of her four children and her request for financial support. The actor continues to deny any connection to Karen Sala, 46, who alleges she has known Reeves since they were teenagers.
"His (Reeves') position is that he's not the father of these children, never had a relationship with them, never lived with Ms Sala and that the application has absolutely no merits. It's totally frivolous," Wolfson said.
"I don't know whether he's ever met her (Sala). But he certainly has not lived with her or had an intimate relationship."
In a recent court filing, signed by Reeves, Wolfson is seeking dismissal of Sala's claims with costs, meaning she would be required to pay Reeves' legal fees.
In response to Reeves' court filing, Sala said she has a photograph of Reeves at her Barrie home as recently as 2006.
Sala also insisted that Reeves has maintained contact with her over the past three decades.
"He (Reeves) doesn't stay away, he constantly comes and checks up and everything. It'll come out. The truth is a strange thing and sometimes no one's prepared for it. And it will come out. You have to have faith," Sala said.
Sala, who said she has been trying "privately" to get a settlement from Reeves for several years, acknowledged her four children, aged 20 to 25, are unhappy with her court bid. "The kids are, like, `What's going on? Are you crazy, mom?'"
But she insisted she and her children are owed something from the actor, who is wealthy. "If your parents are rich and they give you nothing ... something is better than nothing."
