I have a hard time budgeting my salary because I am a single parent, my ex helps out a little but it is still not enough. Now my teenager has been pestering me about getting a cellphone because all of her friends have one, now how am I supposed to give her that? Its a good thing I stumbled across this site www.freecellphonecentral.com, I am hoping to get that free phone for her next week. Oh well, this eliminates that problem, what would she want next time?

THanks for that site, didn't know about it before now.

I got my teen a phone for at&ts new go plans. I like the plans and they keep her from overspending and keep me from thousand dollar phone bills.

Something to keep in mind is how big a sense of entitlement you can tolerate in your teen. If a teen wants a phone they can wait until they are working and can pay for it themselves.

If youve always brought up your child not to expect the upmost from you then i dont think she would mind that you couldnt afford this phone!
However if she has been spoilt and given everything then she will be very disheartened by not getting this!
I expect that if you told her you couldnt afford it then she would be adult enough to accept that you realy cannot afford it!

Okay, I know I'm old fashioned, but nothing annoys me as much as seeing everybody everywhere with a cellphone stuck to their head.
I was watching drivers the other day, half were talking on the phone and driving. Dangerous in my opinion; exactly which activity is the driver paying attention to. People sitting in restaurants and their phone rings, they answer it and yak away, ignoring their tablemates and annoying surrounding people. Walking down the street, on the bus, down the sidewalk. Good grief!
And texting seems to be the new 'talking'. My nieces will sit at the dinner table and text people between bites. If I was their mother I'd flush the damn phones down the toilet.
