I had one first date that was actually a lot of fun, but I wasn't sure if it was a date until the end. The guy and I had been friends for several months and we went out for dinner and drinks one night. He asked the bartender if she could make a certain type of drink, but she had never heard of it. He told her what was in the drink, and she tried to make it. We sat at the bar for several hours that night talking and drinking the various concoctions the bartender came up with. When he took me home and wanted to kiss me good night I realized he considered it to be a date. Maybe it was the alcohol (which ended up being free!), but it led to a great relationship.
