Great idea! I'd say taking your girl to an event that you really AREN'T interested in is really special. Believe me, she would know you don't enjoy whatever it might be, say theatre or opera, but she would really appreciate your willingness to take her.
I had a boyfriend one time take me to see Phantom of the Opera. Tickets for the bus trip down to the city and the show. He'd never ever shown interest in seeing this, but I wanted to. And he ended up enjoying it. The fact that he made that effort was really special.
